It all dates back to 1967 when Mariangelo Ploner decided to build the Hotel Gran Paradiso in San Cassiano in Alta Badia in keeping with all the Tyrolese design traditions, embellishing them with wooden features to create a cosy, harmonious environment.
The choice to build a hotel in San Cassiano was driven by the gorgeous landscape and unique history of that place.
San Cassiano is known as the gem of Alta Badia with its location at the foot of the natural parkland of Fanes Sennes Braies set against a breath-taking backdrop of the Dolomite mountains of Sas dla Crusc, Lavarella, Conturines, Settsass and Lagazuoi.
Fired by new challenges to offer the ultimate in relaxation, in 1999 we created the spa, swimming pool and new suites to make our hotel even more comfortable and able to meet our guests’ needs. To add an exclusive feel to your holiday, in 2006 we refurbished all the hotel rooms which are now even more delightful. In 2015 we rebuilt the bar, updating its image and facilities to guarantee you the best possible service.
2017 sees the opening of the new Sky-Wellness spa and the new rooms with stunning views which are sure to attract both all our regular guests who have helped us grow over the years as well as new visitors discovering Alta Badia for the very first time.
Sport has always been a family passion of ours, leading us first to become a partner of Roadbike Holidays in 2013 and then a partner of Mountain Bike Holidays in 2014, to offer the best all-round service for cycling fans.
